With the Euro millions, the chance to hit the jackpot is around 190,000,000 to 1 and still millions of Germans play every week and hope to be the “lucky one”. I have never met a main lottery winner or know someone from “hearsay” and yet nobody doubts that the chance to win really exists.
Shaking my head, I now read the news and see how “system doubters” take to the streets and demonstrate for their “right” to go shopping. I am an advocate of democratic principles and one of the first to stand up when it comes to protecting our freedom, but this is going a bit too far for me at the moment.
I don’t really care what everyone does with their lives, because everyone is responsible for themselves and their actions, but if the ignorance of others endangers my life, I don’t care anymore and I get upset about it. It seems to be a “German quality” that laws and regulations only apply if it suits you or if they bring you benefits, but when it comes to solidarity, the door is closed very quickly.
I call out to all of these anti-social ignorants: “If you like to risk your life, if you like to get sick and if you like to die, I don‘t care, but if you risk my life because you don’t want to see that the situation is unpredictable and dangerous, and you want to behave like an ignorant and selfish asshole, then my contempt and the full harshness of the law should hit you! ” What else has to happen so that the last people understand that this is not fun? Does grandma have to go first, do friends have to die or refrigerated vans full of corpses stand in front of the hospitals so that it is finally clear that we are all in this shit?
